Leadership Essentials for Today’s Organizational Leader
Our 21st Century Leadership Essentials program to progressively develop essential leadership competencies needed for organizational leadership at the frontline, mid-level, and senior levels of responsibility. Further refine and develop your adaptive leadership capacity, along with understanding how talent development and communication in the context of organizational leadership can assist your organization in its leadership and management practices. This program can be delivered in-person, blended, or in an online format.

* All participants will receive the Leadership Vitals assessment package consisting of a whole-brain thinking and emotional intelligence assessment
Our expert and experienced facilitators are focused on challenging participants to think differently and deliver useful approaches to tackling leadership challenges. This program offers participants an opportunity to engage in thoughtful learning and collaboration with facilitators and peers.
Module 1: 21st Century Leadership (20 Hours)
L1: Leading self
Before leaders can effectively lead others, they must be able to lead themselves. Every interaction a leader has with a member of their organization has a positive or negative impact on their influence as a leader. To lead ourselves requires having the self-awareness of how our personality, behaviors, and emotions impact those around us positively or negatively. Leading self effectively begins with understanding how others are experiencing your leadership. When we can lead ourselves, we can lead others more effectively, which results in achieving better organizational results. This seminar will be directed at improving your effectiveness as a leader.
L2: Resilient Leadership
Current and future leaders must remain resilient when operating in dynamic and rapidly evolving environments. Today, leaders are expected to be skillful agents of change. Leaders routinely face uncertainty, disruption, and new challenges. Through this seminar, participants will obtain practical tools and strategies to navigate their organization through the many obstacles routinely faced. Participants will learn to recognize neurobiological responses to stress and understand how thoughts affect emotional reactions. Coping strategies and resiliency development tools will be addressed. Participants will emerge with a “resilient mindset” and the ability to evaluate and effectively address adverse events. Through highly interactive lectures, exercises, and case studies, participants will leave more resilient and inspired leaders, able to handle adversity, unite their teams, and emerge from challenges stronger than before.
L3: Leader as Coach
Experience is the primary medium through which adults learn and develop professionally. With the leader as coach guiding them, direct reports can leverage their experience to develop “Quicksmarts” where the ability to reflect on action and learn from experience can be developed into the ability to reflect and learn in action. This accelerated learning strategy will develop organizational members and leaders to be more effective in their daily roles.
L4: Leading Teams
Organizations are an aggregation of teams. The cornerstone of any high performing team is a direction and purpose that energizes and focuses its members. Building and leading a team begins with establishing relationships and setting the proper foundation for the growth and development of the team, so the group learns and transforms into a team together. This seminar is directed at understanding the fundamentals of team building and leadership that you can apply to your organization immediately.
Module 2: Leadership Communications (10 Hours)
L1: Leadership Communication
Communication is critical to leadership success. Understanding the nuances of internal and external communication is essential to inspiring effective decision-making, teamwork, and action. As technology drives much of our information sharing, communicating strategically through mediated platforms is an indispensable skillset for today’s leader. Every interaction determines how you are perceived, and each interaction is an opportunity to develop trust and exert positive influence. The ability to create an environment for open discussion and ongoing dialogue is crucial for success. Strategizing communication through the various digital mediums for maximum understanding, value, and action, is paramount to effective leadership in this dynamic environment and with each communication interaction, you are branding yourself as a leader. The leadership communications skills covered in this seminar will explore communication as a leader in a dynamic digital world by addressing communication types, mediated communication, persuasion and influence, as well as branded leadership communication. The participant will emerge with a better understanding of how to strategically enhance and adapt their communication to create success in a rapidly changing environment.
L2: Storytelling for Leaders
Stories can bring leadership to life. Telling and hearing stories enables organizational members to reflect on their own and others’ experiences and abstract knowledge. It is an effective way for catalyzing learning in any organization. As leaders, we learn from experiences, or to put it differently, what we learn is experiences. By articulating our own experiences as stories, we increase our and others’ understanding of them. This seminar will be directed at improving your ability to communicate through storytelling and to become more effective as a leader.
Module 3: Leading Adaptive Change (10 Hours)
L1: Leading Organizational Change
When leaders take over an organization, whether it is at the C-Level or departmental level, they might see the need to launch an organizational change initiative to develop the culture to meet the organization's goals and mission. Organizational culture can be a competitive advantage. If leaders do not take steps to shape the culture, the culture will shape itself. Organizational culture change begins with leaders. It takes an understanding of the social context of the organization and identifying members who will support the change initiative, and who will resist the change initiative to make change efforts successful over time. It takes leaders modeling the values and behaviors to set the example for other members of the organization. This seminar is directed at understanding the fundamentals of leading change, the obstacles to change, and strategies to make an organizational change initiative successful over the long-term.
L2: Design Thinking for Adaptive Challenges
Developing breakthrough ideas and solutions will be increasingly important to all organizations regardless of industry or market. But how you should your organization go about that? Design thinking, also referred to as human-centered design, is a positive way to create solutions for an organization’s most challenging issues. Design thinking offers a systematic approach to enable collaborative, interdisciplinary problem solving. This seminar is hands-on and will be directed at creating ideas for your organization or industry.
